7th Annual Fishing Rodeo Letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

It is that time of year! We here at Dufrene Building Materials are so excited to announce that we WILL be hosting our 7th annual fishing rodeo at Bridgeside Marina in Grand Isle on August 19-20, 2022.

First off please let this letter serve as a thank you for your donation and participation in our event last year. Two weeks after last year's rodeo, Hurricane Ida devastated our community and threw us into survival mode. This included our staff, surrounding areas, and our companies which we are still rebuilding from, so we were unable to reach out with the formal thank you cards we normally send every year.

This year we will be benefiting two amazing organizations.

The Center- The Center, located in Cut Off, LA was opened in 1980 and today proudly offers their services to over 75 adults with developmental disabilities. Their mission is to provide a full range of both residential and vocational services to their clients in our community. Their services and support are offered in such a manner as to promote integration into the local community, economic self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and independence.

Bridge to Independence- A program offered through Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA which was formed to give individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder the opportunity to have the full college experience while gaining skills they will need to succeed their future careers and to live independently. Bridge was the first certified program in Louisiana to offer dual tracks for certificates and Associate/Bachelor degrees for children with these disabilities.
